CONTEXT
The IOC is aware of the popularity of urban disciplines and has sought to integrate them into the Olympic Games. Consequently, it developed a new area with open-access modular installations (known as Urban Park) in the heart of Buenos Aires (Argentina) for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games (YOG). This move indicated that the IOC is increasingly up-to-date with urban disciplines.
AGENCY MISSION
Hurricane Events worked with IOC’s organising committee on the design of the area to deliver a new sporting, cultural and artistic experience for visitors. Hurricane Parks also collaborated in the design, manufacture and installation of the central BMX Park.
